πŸš€ Get AiMail

Self-hosted email platform for cPanel shared hosting

Version 1.2.0 Β· June 2026

πŸ—οΈ Before You Download β€” Set Up Your Subdomain

⚠️ Install on a subdomain β€” not a folder inside your existing website. A folder like yourdomain.com/mail/ doesn't get its own Document Root in cPanel, so AiMail can't be installed there securely. Use a subdomain (mail.yourdomain.com) or a separate addon domain instead.
1
In cPanel, go to Domains β†’ Create A New Domain(older cPanel themes: look for Subdomains instead).
πŸ“Έ Screenshot: cPanel β†’ Domains β†’ "Create A New Domain" button
2
Enter a subdomain for your existing domaine.g. type mail with yourdomain.com selected β€” this becomes mail.yourdomain.com. Leave the suggested Document Root as-is for now (cPanel's default folder is fine β€” you'll upload AiMail into it next). Click Create.
3
Download AiMailusing the button below, then upload and extract it into that new subdomain's folder via cPanel β†’ File Manager.
4
Visit mail.yourdomain.com/install.phpand follow the guided installer β€” it checks your server, tests your database connection, and writes your config automatically. No secrets to generate or edit by hand.
5
⚠️ Do this immediately after setup finishes β€” don't skip itThe installer's final screen shows you the exact Document Root to set, ending in /public. Go back to cPanel β†’ Domains β†’ Manage β†’ Document Root and set it exactly as shown.
πŸ”’ Why this step matters
Until Document Root points at the public/ folder specifically, your app's config file, database credentials, and source code sit inside the publicly web-accessible folder β€” reachable by anyone who knows (or guesses) the path. This is the single step most likely to get missed, including by us the first time we built this. Don't skip it.
